A man, who’s interstate driver’s licence is suspended until 2032, has been arrested after vehicles were allegedly rammed on the state’s South Coast.
Police began receiving calls to Triple Zero (000) about 6.30am Thursday 15 January 2026, reporting an unregistered SUV was being driven dangerously northbound along the Princes Highway towards Ulladulla.
While police were responding, a further call was received reporting a station-wagon been struck by a vehicle matching the SUV description, which was heading south towards Batemans Bay.
Further driving complaints were received from the Ulladulla area about 11.30am, when the SUV allegedly struck a 4WD ute. Other reports made were that the vehicle was being driven on the wrong side of the road.
The SUV was sighted by officers attached to South Coast Police District and Highway Patrol’s Traffic South, who initiated a pursuit when the driver allegedly failed to stop when directed.
He was followed to a business on the Princes Highway at Batemans Bay where he was arrested before being taken to Batemans Bay Hospital after being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Checks of the man’s Victorian driver’s licence revealed it was suspended until 2032. His driving privileges in NSW were immediately revoked.
The man remains in hospital under police guard while inquiries continue into the incident.
