Member for Kiama Gareth Ward MP has used Parliament to acknowledge the work of the Berry Country Women’s Association (CWA) for their continued advocacy and support within the community.
During Awareness Week from 1st to 7th September, Berry CWA brought important attention to the issue of gender-based violence, specifically domestic and family violence and violence against women outside intimate relationships.
“Berry CWA has played a critical role in supporting these and many other causes, raising awareness and funds for local charities and organizations,” Mr Ward said.
“Their commitment ensures that the voices of those in rural and regional areas are heard as they push for reforms, including stronger bail laws and improved funding for victim support services.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Berry CWA members, volunteers, and supporters for their tireless efforts to create positive change in our community.
Their work is invaluable, and their impact continues to be felt across the region.” Mr
Ward concluded.
