Investigations are underway at a pond in Harry Sawkins Park, Nowra to determine the cause of death of a number of birds and fish over the weekend.
People are being reminded not to fish at the pond or make contact with the water for safety reasons.
Shoalhaven Council is in discussions with the Department of Primary Industries and the Australian Registry of Wildlife Health to monitor the risk to other wildlife at the park.

Council officers will continue to patrol the site regularly and provide information to the community as soon as outcomes of investigations are known.
