The first stage of upgrades at the popular Gerringong Golf Club are now in
Federal Member for Gilmore Fiona Phillips joined with club members to officially open the new fuel storage tanks and cart wash bay which received a $17,500 boost through the Stronger Communities Program.
The first stage of the clubhouse development was completed to improve compliance with fuel storage safety standards and to reduce water usage.
Gerringong Golf Club vice president Tony Quinn said the improved storage and cart refuelling system had improved the club’s presentation to visitors.
“The club has 18,000 visitors per year which provides great economic benefits to our region,” Mr Quinn said.
“The new systems will also enable the club to reduce water usage by recycling wastewater for course irrigation.”
Gerringong Golf Club was one of 17 organisations in Gilmore that shared in $134,500 worth of grants for community projects through Round 8 of the Program.
The funding is aimed at community and local council projects that improve community participation and contribute to vibrant communities.
