A quiet weekend quickly became one to remember for a St Georges Basin woman who scrapped her original plans and rallied her loved ones for a spontaneous family lunch to celebrate her $1 million Saturday Lotto surprise.
The South Coast resident held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4601 on Saturday 23 August 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,055,540.64.
“My dad actually checked my ticket for me this morning and woke me up to tell me I’d won,” she said.
“I’ve been buying for many, many years in the hope that one day I would get a rude awakening that I’ve won. And it’s happened! It’s the luck of the draw.
“I’m trying to imagine myself as a millionaire. It’s not something I’ve ever expected to happen.
“This will do the mortgage and that’s a huge relief.
“My dad’s onto it! He’s already downloaded, printed and handed me the Prize Claim Form to complete!
“Now we’re going to have a family lunch to celebrate!”
The woman’s winning entry was purchased at St Georges Basin Newsagency.
