The Shoalhaven Greens has launched the Greens team as Mayor Amanda Findley prepares to step down from Council.

The new team will be headed by former Councillor, Kaye Gartner, who is running for Mayor supported by a team of experienced candidates and newcomers.

“Amanda has done great things for our community in her 16 years on Council,” Gartner said. “But no one can, or should, hold office indefinitely. We wish Amanda well for the future and are excited and energised by the talented team who have put their hands up to take us, and the Shoalhaven, forward,” said Ms Gartner

“We need more affordable housing projects, a genuine renewable energy policy to achieve Net Zero and sensitive and sensible input to the next Local Environment Plan.

“Our team comes from a diverse range of backgrounds with experience and qualifications in everything from the environment to science, agriculture, law, education, health, youth services, activism and management.

“I believe in collaboration, not pitting one side against the other, and am keen to work with all my fellow Councillors to bring our community together.”

Heading the Greens ticket in Ward 1 is current councillor and an internationally recognised leader in education, Dr Tonia Gray.

She will be supported by Dr Sarah Waddell, Carmel McCullum, and Fuchsia Sims.
