The parents of a teenager missing from Milton are thrilled he is alive but remain concerned he’s still missing and are worried he may have been tempted to get into a strangers car.
15-year-old, Cody Nevin, was last seen at Little Forrest near Milton on the NSW South Coast around 7pm on Friday (October 20).
Cody lives with Autism and ADHD, Cody’s mother, Rebecca Warren said police have confirmed her boy is alive but remains missing.
“The latest is that Cody is still missing,” Ms Warren said.
“Police are currently investigating several leads from all over NSW but right now I can say he is alive, we just don’t know where,” she said.
“I strongly believe he was picked up by someone who had potentially been grooming him online, and is now in a car, travelling somewhere around NSW or the ACT.”
The teenager reportedly left his devices at home which is unusual for him.
Ms Warren said it’s obviously been a tough time for the family.
“I’ve gone through every emotion possible since Friday afternoon,” Ms Warren said
“I’ve felt shocked, worried, sad, hopeless, disappointed and exhausted but that’s nothing compared to what Cody must be feeling,” she said.
As Cody is a vulnerable young man who lives with Autism and ADHD and mental health issues, the family’s concern for his welfare is heightened.
“He’s been without his prescribed medication for five days now and his moods would be very unstable,” Ms Warren said
“His negative thoughts and paranoia would be terrible and I really do fear for his safety,” she said.
“Right now the family are very concerned but are happy to hear he’s still out there alive and we’re trying to stay as optimistic as possible.”
“Huge thank you to everyone everywhere who has shared posts and photos of Cody, we are so grateful, please keep it going.”
Cody is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of a slim build, about 165 centimetres tall, with short light brown hair.
Cody is known to frequent the Milton and Ulladulla areas but NSW Police issued an update on Tuesday (October 24) that they received information that Cody may be in the Tuggeranong, ACT area.
Anyone who sees Cody or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact their local police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
