Shoalhaven Mayoral Candidate Jemma Tribe says she’ll be watching Tuesday’s Federal budget very closely to ensure the Shoalhaven is allocated its promised $40 million for local roads.

The funds were part of the Federal Member’s election promises 2 years ago and have so far not been delivered.

“Our roads desperately need this injection of funds for essential repairs.” Said Jemma.

“The wet weather always exasperates the terrible condition of our roads and after weeks of downpour many are feeling unsafe driving to work and school.” she added.

The promised funds are listed as part of Shoalhaven City Council’s Draft 2024-2025 Delivery Plan and Budget, with works dependent on the money coming through.

“We will be watching the Federal Budget Tuesday night very closely to make sure these promised funds are finally allocated,” said Jemma.

“We’ve waited long enough,” she added.

Team Tribe is running on a platform of ‘Back to Basics.’

“We are hearing loud and clear that people want Council to focus on roads, rates and rubbish, focusing on the fundamentals first,” said Jemma.
