A special Gala dinner is being organised at the Goulburn Workers Club on August 26 to commemorate the centenary of the Great 1917 Strike.

The strike took place during World War One and involved around 77,000 railworkers in NSW and Victoria.

Former Politician and Southern Highlands resident Rodney Cavalier will be a keynote speaker.

Greg Price from the Southern Tablelands Rail Users Group says the event had a profound effect on our country.

Tickets are $75 and are available from the Workers Club, phone number 4821 3355.
