Parents call for coronial inquest

Former Bowral residents Ralph and Kathy Kelly are calling for a coronial inquest into their son's death.

The comments come following the release of a 200 page report into sexual violence and hazing at university colleges.

Mr. and Mrs. Kelly believe hazing rituals carried out at Sydney University were a big factor in why their son Stuart ended his own life.

They claim he came back a different person after spending one night at one of the colleges and were told that other boys held him down and poured alcohol down his throat, before he was able to break free.

Nobody knows what happened to him afterwards, but he was later picked up by his parents sitting in the gutter with his head in his hands at the nearby Prince Alfred Hospital.

After the death of his brother Thomas from a king hit punch, Stuart was part of a campaign to end alcohol fuelled violence.
