The Hume Police District will once again be taking part in the state-wide Firearms Amnesty which is an initiative supported by NSW Police and the State Government.
The amnesty is an opportunity for people to hand in their unwanted and unregistered guns.
Chief Inspector Brendan Bernie says they had some fantastic success with last years campaign.
In NSW alone there were nearly 8000 firearms surrendered for destruction – including 951 handguns and 5558 shotguns.
The amnesty is taking place between July 1 and September 30.
