Around 500 school students from across the Highlands will be taking part in the Science and Engineering Challenge and Discovery Day on May 28 and 29.
The program is run by the University of Newcastle and jointly administered by volunteers at Engineers Australia and Rotary.
The challenge is aimed at year 10 students who may want to consider studying stem subjects for year 11 and 12 and the Discovery Day is for year six primary school students.
John Sainsbury from the Rotary Club of Bowral Mittagong says the winners of the challenge will have the opportunity to progress further.
