Residents say no to concrete poles

historic berrima

Residents at Berrima have raised concerns about what they believe is a potential threat to the heritage value of their village after Endeavour Energy recently tried to erect concrete power poles on Jellore Street.

The threat was averted due to strong opposition from local residents, Goulburn MP Pru Goward and Wingecarribee Council.

At last night's council meeting, Councillors unanimously agreed for council to write to Endeavour Energy, asking for the company to rule out putting the poles at other locations in the village.

Councillor Larry Whipper says they're incredibly unsightly.
