The Bureau of Meteorology says what people thought was snow falling in Bowral this afternoon, was most likely very light hail that fell through thunderstorms in the area.
The temperature at the time was just under 10 degrees, which is a bit too warm for snow flakes to be sustained
Senior Forecaster Mohammed Nabi says the atmosphere was more conducive to light hail.
