Former Bowral resident Ralph Kelly has spoken up about the recent incident involving West Coast Eagles star Andrew Gaff where he king hit Freemantle player Andrew Brayshaw and broke his jaw.

Mr. Kelly lost his son Thomas in a vicious one punch attack at Kings Cross in 2012 and believes there's no difference between a punch on the field and a punch on the street.

Mr. Kelly has told the AGE that we need to change at all levels including sport.

In the meantime Andrew Brayshaw is currently on a diet of smoothies, soup and blended meals, because he's unable to eat.

Gaff received an 8 week ban.
