Aeronautical engineering students from Sydney University are currently testing a Formula student vehicle at Marulan which will be entered into the Formula SAE-A competition in Melbourne next month.

The car has been custom built and has taken 11 months to complete.

Test driving has taken place at the University’s Formula Race Testing grounds, which feature a specialist race track, tarmac and rocket launching facility.

This included acceleration tests of over 100 kilometres per hour, as well as performing technically difficult manoeuvres and stunts.
