Figures from the NSW Food and Wine Tourism Strategy show low levels of awareness between the State’s different wine regions and brands.

67 per cent of people in a National Visitor survey recognised the Hunter Valley but only seven per cent of respondents mentioned the Southern Highlands.

The figures also show 47.1 per cent of domestic overnight travellers visited the Hunter, 10 per cent in Mudgee, followed by Orange, the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven.

Meanwhile among international Wine Travellers China is contributing 24.4 per cent of all international nights spent in NSW.

Almost two thirds of international wine vistors went to the the Hunter Valley.
