A road safety blitz has been carried out at 11 locations across the state including the Marulan Heavy Vehicle Checking Station.
The 48 hour operation has resulted in one in 20 drivers being issued with defect notices.
And out of 1200 drug tests, five came back positive.
Acting Commissioner Greg Ralph from NSW Highway Patrol has told Channel Seven the operation involved more than 100 Police Officers and RMS staff.
It covered all main routes into the state.
