Fuel load reduced on Mount Gibraltar

hazard reduction burn mount gibraltar

Our Fire and Rescue NSW Zone Office has hailed a recent hazard reduction burn up at Mount Gibraltar a success.

Following discussions with the local bushfire committee, crews burnt out around eight hectares with the aim of reducing some of the fuel load.

Local residents were letterbox dropped in the lead up to the burn which took place last Friday.

Duty Commander Dean Campbell says residents can now feel a little safer.
