Hospice plans scrapped

The Southern Highlands Community Hospice Board have decided to scrap plans to build a hospice at 104 to 106 Bowral Street after coming to the conclusion that the proposal was no longer feasible for the site.

However Chair Peter Fletcher says they're still committed to delivering hospice and palliative care services in the Southern Highlands, but not at this location.

Another issue was the board not being able to secure Government funding prior to the State Election.

Back in October last year, the majority of Wingecarribee Councillors approved a hospice for the site, which is owned and operated by Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Nick Hartnall.
