Wingecarribee Council is carrying out trials of alternative weed control methods, as the spotlight continues to shine on the potential dangers of using roundup.
Council has been using the product throughout the shire for around 40 years.
There are currently controls and processes in place for its use and it's never sprayed around playgrounds and playcentres, during windy conditions and after 8am in the towns and villages.
Manager of Open Spaces Greg Bray says there a number of different techniques available to them including products such as vinegar, acetic acid, pine and clove oil.
