Former Wingecarribee Mayor Ken Halstead has been recognised for his contribution to engineering.
Councillor Halstead who retired from his profession back in 1994 received the Keith H Wood Medal from the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia.
He started in local Government in 1965 and began an engineering degree two years later.
He retired in 1994, but continued to work as a lecturer.
Councillor Halstead says his career has given him alot of satisfaction.
