Operation Slow Down will start after midnight tonight as part of the Labour Day Long Weekend.
Double-demerits will be in force throughout the operation.
Local drivers can expect to see extra Police on the roads targeting dangerous driving, speeding, drink and drug-driving, mobile phone use and not wearing seatbelts.
If you're caught using your mobile phone you could lose your licence.
During last year's operation Slow Down period, five lives were lost in four fatal crashes on NSW roads.
Double demerits will finish at 11:59pm on Monday.
