Portable kiosk report labelled disastrous & silly

Wingecarribee Councillors have chosen not to support a portable kiosk for Lake Alexandra in Mittagong.

Councillor Ian Scandrett put forward a notice of motion at last night's meeting asking Council staff to report on the possible provision for a lease of a site in the vicinity of the carpark.

The report would've included leasing terms, hours of operation aswell as connection to services, rent and waste management.

At last night's meeting Councillor Ken Halstead labelled the idea as disastrous and silly and argued it was an area which should be used for tranquil open space.

Meantime Mayor Duncan Gair says it's not up to council to carry out a cost analysis of the project, and something which should be left for private enterprise.
