New dementia facility opened in Burradoo

The Harbisson Care dementia facility at Burradoo has been officially opened by the Governor of NSW Margaret Beazley.

The facility is based on the Butterfly model of Care from the United Kingdom.

Most of the patients are expected to come from the Southern Highlands, Sydney and Goulburn areas, but inquiries have come from as far away as Lord Howe and Hamilton Islands.

CEO David Cochran says the building has a number of fantastic features including an Australian-first ‘smart’ floor that can detect falls, spills and movement.
