The Southern Highlands was one of four areas targeted in an alleged bank card fraud scheme.
Back in February the Hume Police District launched an investigation into fraud offences against a number of retirees.
A total of 15 residents in the Highlands, Illawarra, Central Coast and Canberra received calls from a man claiming to be from their bank.
With the information obtained from these calls the man was able to withdrawal cash from ATMs in East Maitland, East Gosford, Tahmoor, Tuggerah Lakes, Belmont, Dapto and Canberra.
Police have since arrested the 45 year old from Springfield near the Central Coast.
A search warrant executed at his home allegedly uncovered mobile phones, cannabis, banking documentation and clothing.
The man was taken to Woy Woy Police Station and charged with 19 counts of dishonestly obtain property by deception, and possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and faced Newcastle Local Court yesterday.
