The process of cleaning up about 200 dead and burnt pine trees is now underway in Wingello
It comes after council received funding this week from the State Government to carry out the project.
Local residents can expect to see plenty of Forestry of NSW trucks moving in and out of the area.
David Broogermann from the Wingello Village Store says most of the trees were already nearing the end of their normal life span and believes they would have become a major hazard in 10 or 20 years time.
