It's an issue that attracts plenty of debate each year, and this week's Wingecarribee meeting was no exception.
The majority of Councillors voted in favour of accepting a pay increase as per a recommendation made by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Body.
The difference this time, is that the pay will increase by $4000 to $24,000 per annum.
That's because the shire has now been been given a regional classification by the State Government.
Councillor Graham McLaughlin argued better pay would attract more people to stand for council.
