The Australian Rail Track Corporation has announced a $28 million dollar stage two project for the Goulburn to Sydney line which will get underway next month.

As a result Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack says commuters and freight will have more reliable, better-quality journeys.
Meantime Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor says stage two will support around 30 full-time jobs for local contractors.
15,000 tonnes of Australian-made, Whyalla steel rail is also being used.
The total project is worth $68 million dollars.
