Two World War two veterans gathered at the Bowral War Memorial yesterday where they received special Medallions from Member for Whitlam Stephen Jones.
That included Phillip (Pip) Smith who was flying Lancaster’s as part of the Allied Bomber Command and Hubert (Harry) Bell a sergeant in the Commando Regiment in New Guinea.
They're now 97 and 95 respectively.
Four others were unable to make it due to COVID19 or because they've moved out of the area.
Member for Whitlam Stephen Jones says it's important their service is recognised.
Due to COIVID19 no official gathering has been organised at the Bowral War Memorial tomorrow.
