Moves are underway for an independent inquiry after claims of a shocking mistake at Bowral hospital .
Mike Atwell complained of headaches, trouble speaking and a loss of balance,
He visited the Bowral ED three times and each time he was told to take a painkiller and see the GP for a referral to a specialist.
Mr. Atwell's family eventually took the 73-year-old to a Sydney hospital where he was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer and died several weeks later.
There's further claims it's not the first time there's been a misdiagnosis at Bowral hospital and Shadow Health Minister Ryan Park has called for an inquiry by the Health Care Complaints Commission.
