Australia's two-time Dakar motorcycle champion Toby Price has been forced to exit this year's race after crashing in the Saudi Arabian desert.
The former Southern Highlands resident suffered a broken collarbone at the 155 km mark of stage nine.
He was airlifted to hospital in Tabuk and now the injury has ended his campaign.
He received of plenty of praise around the world for using cable ties on his tyre to make it through the eighth stage.
He was ranked second in the bike category before the crash.
