Goulburn Mulwaree High School was placed into lockdown today after a threat was made towards a student via social media.

A 20 year old man was arrested at a home in Goulburn a short time later, but released pending further inquiries.

Police say there was no further information to suggest any threat was going to be carried out towards a student at the school.

The lockdown was lifted later in the day.
