The Independent Planning Commission's final electronic hearings into the Hume Coal proposal being held next week have attracted more than 80 registered speakers.
Coal Free Southern Highlands President Peter Martin who's been fighting against the project for around 10 years said he's glad the whole planning process is coming to an end.
'' I think it's relief rather than anything else. I've been of the view the project was essentially dead for the last two or three years, because Hume Coal was never able to satisfy the issues put on the table by the experts '' Mr. Martin said.
And registrations for the final hearings have now closed, but written submissions will be accepted up until July 23.
