Prisoner recaptured after hours on the run

Police have charged a minimum-security inmate who escaped from a correctional facility at Goulburn yesterday.

The 29-year-old man, who escaped from the facility about 1.30 pm on Thursday,  was arrested by officers from The Hume Police District while waiting for a train at a Railway Station.

He was charged with three offences, including inmate escape from lawful custody, attempt to unlawfully take motor vehicle with person in it and assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle.

The man was refused bail and will appear before Goulburn Local Court.
