It will soon begin to look a lot like Christmas in the Southern Highlands.
Wingecarribee Council is spending more than $100,000 on improving the festive atmosphere in the villages.
Trading operating hours will also be extended for retailers and outdoor dining.
Internal Administrator Viv May is hoping the initiative will give local businesses a bit of a lift.
" This I acknowledge is a lot of money, but I think the community will deserve it and hopefully we'll be living in a different covid world come Christmas " he said.
