The bushfire danger period for the Wingecarribee Shire starts tomorrow.
It means residents will require a permit from their local Rural Fire Service brigade before carrying out a burn.
You'll also need to check with council and give 24 hours notice to your neighbours.
Superintendent Martin Surrey is expecting a bit more rain in the lead up to Christmas.
"It's exacerbating the grass growth and the re - growth in a lot of our bush areas.
"The Summer will be warm and we'll probably be looking at an average season beyond Christmas,''Superintendent Surrey said.
