Expect to see Australia’s largest operating steam locomotive, making more trips on the Southern Highlands line.
The Beyer Garrett 6029, has been secured by the NSW Government to form part of the Transport Heritage NSW fleet.
The loco came to Australia from England in the 1950's and retired from service in 1972.
In 2017, the loco was saved by a private syndicate.
Member for Wollondilly Nathaniel Smith said it's a magnificent piece of machinery.
"I had a trip on it the other day and it is an absolute beast,
"I think it takes up to about 18 tonnes of coal,"Mr. Smith said.
