Organisers of the Bowral Cycling Classic have confirmed this year's event will be taking place on the weekend of October 15 & 16.

This year's event will feature the 150 kilometre Maxi Classic, the 120 kilometre Challenge Classic, the 85 kilometre Rouleurs Classic and 35 kilometre Social Classic.

The fast-paced Bowral Crit is also back with hundreds of riders and spectators expected for the second annual criterium race on the Bowral street circuit.

Race Founder James Yaffa said they're hoping the roads will be in tip top shape, come race time.

"It's a difficult situation for the councils and government bodies,

"I've already had a look at all the roads and I know exactly where the problem areas are, but where confident that the council will have the roads up to scratch for the event,"Mr. Yaffa said.

It's estimated the Classic injects around $2.5 million dollars in to the local economy through overnight accommodation, and spending at local shops and restaurants.
