Instagram has teamed up with an Australian mental health organisation to help parents understand the popular social media platform.
A new resource by Instagram and ReachOut includes information on tools to protect young people from bullying, manage the amount of time they spend online and control their privacy.
It aims to help parents understand how young people use the platform and suggests questions to start a conversation about safe social media use.
"For many parents, social media can be challenging because it's not something they grew up with, and platforms and safety features are constantly changing," Reachout Australia chief executive Ashley de Silva said in a release.
A parents guide to Instagram is available on ReachOut's website.
