Man in custody after body found in Sydney

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found near a Sydney train station.

The discovery was made by members of the public about 6am on Saturday at Hurstville.

Police say the dead man, 56, had suffered severe stab wounds.

Officers arrested another man, 29, nearby and seized an edged weapon shortly after being called to the scene.

They took him to Kogarah Police Station and charged with murder.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in cout on Sunday.
