More than 400 residents packed the St Georges Basin Country club yesterday to vent their opposition to a proposed 380 unit complex on Anson Street.
Arguments against the proposal centred around a lack of jobs, infrastructure and ruining the village atmosphere.
There were also concerns expressed on a lack of medical services.
Maureen Webb from the Basin Villages Forum is encouraging residents to have their say on the Department of Plannings Gateway determination which will see building heights limited to 2 stories.
"That will come out probably around the beginning of January for comment and I think there's 28 days for the community to put in submissions", Ms Webb said.
"So make sure that they keep listening to the radio or checking Basin Villages Forum Website so that they can make a submission, that's the most important thing at this time", she said.
