Reduction to most crimes in the Shoalhaven, sexual assaults up slightly

There’s been a reduction in reported crime in the Shoalhaven with non-domestic violence-related assaults down 6.5 percent and stealing from a retail store down 25.9 percent.

The figures from the Bureau of Crime Statistics also recorded downward trends in two categories with dwelling break and enters down by more than 20 per cent and stealing from a retail store down almost 33 per cent.

Overall domestic violence-related incidents in the Shoalhaven were the lowest in the state with 355 incidents recorded in the 12 months up to September this year, down from 391 the previous year.

There was an increase in sexual assaults, the number up to 133 compared with 128 the previous year.
