As students across the South Coast receive the latest round of university offers, they're being reminded it's not the end of the road if they miss out.
It comes as figures reveal a 43% increase in the number of 18 to 25 year-olds who are transitioning to degree programs through online 'single subject' studies.
Paul Wappett from Open Universities Australia says there are still a number of options for local students looking to break into the degree of their choice.
"You can study single subjects through Open Universities Australia and the benefit of that of course is that you don't need to leave home in order to do it", Mr Wappett said.
"Or you can study a TAFE program as a pathway into University, or you can start on one program at University and transfer to the one that you're after on the basis of your marks", he said.
