The Federal Shadow Minister for climate change and energy has paid a visit to the Shoalhaven to discuss climate change and energy policy.
Rising power prices are having an effect on many businesses and households.
Mark Butler attended a roundtable meeting with business leaders in the Shoalhaven, he says a bipartisan approach is needed on a national level.
"We've heard from businesses right across the land that they really are struggling with the price and reliability of power, the price of gas and that's threatening 10s of thousands of jobs", Mr Butler said.
"We're up for a mature discussion with the Federal Government on a bipartisan energy policy that will start to put this crisis to an end", he said.
