Gilmore has been represented once again at this year's Sydney Gay and Lesbian Madi Gras held over the weekend.
It was a special celebration being the 40th anniversary.
The mood was bittersweet for revellers with Same-Sex Marriage now legal in Australia.
Over 300,000 spectators were there with 12,300 attendees.
Coordinator with Marriage Equality Gilmore Dawn Hawkins says the celebration was memorable.
"What was wonderful was travelling along the road as we were doing the mardi gras to see so many of our regulars actually in the crowd and calling out to us", Ms Hawkins said.
"We all went across and had photos with them all and gave them hugs and I was absolutely shocked at just how many South Coasters were present in the crowd", she said.
"It was absolutely fantastic".
Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley and Councillor Annette Aldrick were among locals who marched in the Mardi Gras
