The Department of Education and Nowra Public School have come under fire after a five-year-old girl was allegedly threatened by another student with a meat cleaver who threatened to chop her up.
It’s understood parents were not notified of the incident nor were police until the father of the girl went to the Police himself.
The South Coast Register reports it was only the father received an apologetic phone call from the Principal admitting they should have handled the incident better.
The altercation involving 4 students was broken up when a teacher intervened taking the knife away.
The father expressed concerns the school failed in its duty of care.
