The State Government has announced more than $10 Million in funding will be allocated in this year's State Budget to upgrade the Princes Highway from Tomerong to Batemans Bay.
The upgrades will include roadside barriers, lighting and audio-tactile line markings to warn cars that drift out of the lanes.
Another major upgrade to take place will be the installation of a roundabout at the notoriously dangerous Island Point Road intersection.
The highway has become the subject of national attention with a number of deaths during peak holiday periods, including the Falkholt Family when serial traffic offender Craig Whitall lost control of his four-wheel drive and slammed into them on Boxing Day last year.
He was on his way home from a Nowra methadone clinic.
Meantime, the journey for South Coast motorists making the trip to Sydney will get a little bit quicker in years to come with the State Government announcing a start to the F6 extension.
23 sets of traffic lights would be bypassed.
