The Roads and Maritime Service has agreed to look at an alternative design plan for a new Nowra Bridge, suggested by the Shoalhaven Business Chamber.
A meeting was held yesterday between local business people, politicians and the RMS to discuss the need for a Grade Separated Interchange and Fly over.
Business Chamber President Jemma Tribe says a 30-year solution is needed and not a band-aid fix.
"It also means we're not having to come back in 10 or 15 years time and trying to do the job again, we want to get the best possible solution now", Ms Tribe said.
"We have been lobbying for several months about getting these options seriously looked at", she said.
