Shoalhaven City Councillor Bob Proudfoot has slammed the Federal Government over what appears to be a drop in Roads to Recovery funding.
Federal Infrastructure Minister Michael McCormack has issued a funding allocation of about $8.5 Million over the next five years.
That compares with $13.5 Million over the last 5 years.
Councillor Proudfoot says it's a slap in the face to the regions ratepayers and residents, especially given we're a more popular tourism destination than the North Coast.
He says with the local roads maintenance backlog of about $40 Million as reported by the NRMA earlier in the year, the region needs all of the funding it can get.
